EcoFAB 2025
Advancing Mechanistic Microbial Science Using Fabricated Ecosystems
August 6-9, 2025 | Asilomar Conference Center, Pacific Grove, California
About the Conference
This inaugural event will bring together scientists across disciplines and ecosystems who are developing and applying fabricated laboratory ecosystems, such as SynComs, to help transition microbiome science from observational to reproducible mechanistic studies. The venue, limited conference size, and agenda is designed to promote ample opportunity for interaction and collaboration among leaders in the field.
Organizing Committee
Key Topics
- Standardized Microbial Communities: Development of defined microbial consortia across ecosystems
- Fabricated Ecosystem Design: Principles for creating reproducible laboratory habitats
- Cross-Laboratory Reproducibility: Ensuring consistent results across different research settings
- Data Standards & Protocols: Standardized workflows, computational tools, and reporting methods
- Mechanistic Studies: Using EcoFABs to dissect ecological questions with precision
- Computational Modeling: Predictive frameworks for modeling laboratory ecosystems and microbiome trajectories
Why Attend?
